Isn’t this where diets are generally beneficial? The short answer is no. This is where diets often fail. Diets do little to change how we view food. In fact, most diets tell us good foods, bad foods, and foods (usually most of the foods we enjoy the most) are completely taboo. Fevers start with forcing people to feel deprived or punished. And nobody likes to feel any of these things.
Even worse, we punish ourselves more when we glide along the very straight and narrow paths that our diets put us on. This means that we will drown in guilt about every little step we take until we let go of everything together and decide to over-indulge again and ignore the guilt together.
