‘Chicago 7’ is a group of anti-war protesters accused of rioting at the 1968 Democratic National Convention and brought to the dock. In reality, according to the actual events the movie adheres to, The Democratic Party Convention erupted with demonstrations from demonstrators such as Tom Hayden’s Moderate Students for the Democratic Society and Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin’s radical Yippies, which led to violent conflicts with local authorities. Consequently, seven of the alleged ringleaders, including Bobby Seale of the Black Panthers, are charged by an aggressive Nixon administration with Treason.
