2. Endothelial S protein

Outside the liver, it requires vitamin K for the activation and production of 50% of the anticoagulant protein S. This protein is important in the prevention of local thrombosis.

In the presence of another activated protein known as protein-C, this protein associate with the endothelial cell surface and promotes the Vitamin-K-dependent clotting factor pro-anticoagulant factor V.
