3. Say good things about others

My mom always says, “If you can’t say anything nice about others, don’t say anything at all.” However, when you find yourself in a conversation and one of your relatives says, “Do you remember Uncle Phil?” “He was addicted to alcohol.” Answer, “Yes, Uncle Phil was an alcoholic and was the most charitable person I have ever met.”
Associate your relative’s negative statement about an elephant with a positive statement. Prepare yourself to find the positive in anyone’s statement and you will prevent negative thoughts and depression from overtaking your life.
