7 Diet Rules You Should Ignore

2. Snacking Between Meals

Don’t Snack Between Meals This is one of the oldest rules of diet around. The idea is to eat three square meals a day and then not eat anything else. What’s the problem, then? For one, you’re more likely to overeat at dinner if you’re hungry and don’t have a snack between lunch and dinner. Any calories that you save by skipping a snack are quickly made up during dinner (usually, plus some extra). The other issue with this rule is that, during particular times of the day, it essentially forces you to have three meals.
