As we age, the body does not metabolize alcohol as efficiently, and drunk crap food cravings become harder to ignore, warns registered dietitian Martha McKittrick. It’s also increasingly hard to get a good night’s rest when alcohol is still  in your system. While you might have been able to tolerate minimal sleep on your 20’s, that’s not true on your 30’s and beyond. Sleepless nights contribute to carb and sugar cravings the next day, which may result in further weight gain,” McKittrick explains.
